SUMMARY:Random Lake Conservation Fair - Free Public Event
DESCRIPTION:Do outdoor activities\, nature\, and environmental education sound interesting to you? Looking for an activity which hosts numerous local and state companies and organizations\, and a family friendly environment? Along with organizations\, and like minded naturalist – we will be one of the local companies at the Random Lake Conservation Fair. This is a FREE EVENT and open to the public. Information about this event may be found on their web page.\nFrom the organizer of this event: In the past three Conservation Fair events we have raised over $8\,000 that have funded our high school science club as well as local animal rescue organizations. Through our community outreach efforts and this event\, we have even started construction on our outdoor learning center with a grant that was awarded to us last year. We hope to have the center finished by the end of the 2023 school year for use in a K-12 setting. Any funds we raise through this event will go towards the outdoor learning center as well as to help offset the cost of a camping trip high school students go on each spring. This camping trip allows them to have the opportunity to make their own food\, learn about nature\, and explore various forms of outdoor recreation. These students also participate in activities throughout the year such as ice fishing\, trap shooting\, and wreath making that are only possible with the funds generated by this event.\nSilent Wake will be present to answer questions about who we are\, what we do\, and nearly any kayak related questions.  At our booth\, we will have various educational handouts for the public – related to both human and power boat activities on the water – as well as some items for the kiddos. On display will be our adult and youth sized kayaks\, life vests and our kayak educational sessions we conduct throughout the year. Silent Wake has donated an auction item for this event – a Family Fun Pack. This is our Kayak Sampler for 4 people (youth are welcomed to be participants).
