Paddle Downtown Milwaukee (river)

August 31, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Explore the inner city of Milwaukee unlike any other sight seeing method – from the water. This unique view from the water provides a prospective of the historic city. Passing under several bridges and waving to the pedestrians above us. Several rivers flow into the Milwaukee, and we shall pass by the Third Ward (and channel connecting the Milwaukee river to Lake Michigan). We will be passing under 15 bridges during this trip (as well as the same 15 back to our put in – in case you missed it the first time). Boat traffic is usually minimal for majority of this segment, until we get past Kilbourn Ave. then it does pick up a bit. Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Milwaukee.

This will be a round trip of at least 6 miles, plan to be on the water for at least 4 hours. There are no rapids on this stretch, however you may feel the current at our put-in/take out location. This location is a gentile grade to the water – has some loose rocks along the way, so good paddle foot ware is advised. Paddle experience should be beginner and above and should be able to avoid power boats in the no-wake areas.

There is a porta-potty at our put-in location, and if needed, several local businesses are along the way. Pack snacks and water for your on-water experience.

As always, kayaks and gear are included in the price, should you need them. Otherwise, kayaks less than 12 feet should not be used on this trip – because of trip distance.
