Kewaskum’s River Celebration

June 27, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

FREE

In partnership with the Bridget Center, and the City of Kewaskum, this is a FREE kayak event.

There will be three organizations which will provide kayaks, PFD, and paddles for this event. There are limited spaces (8 slots for each group).

This will be a total paddle distance of 2 miles, on a beginner friendly stretch of the Milwaukee River – time on water will be dependent of weather conditions, wind, and river current.

Please visit the Bridget Center for registration and to reserve your place either with Silent Wake, or the two other organizations.

“Kewaskum’s Mighty River Project” is a river restoration project of the Bridget Center with an intention to inspire, engage, educate community about our precious fresh water resource. This celebration is designed for villagers to experience a relationship with nature for recreation and for harmony with the natural world.

There will be a water blessing at 4:44 in lower River Hill Park which will consist of 4 water songs to be sung and drummed by a local Native American group. We ask that you pause, rest, pray, or reflect during this short time, to feel appreciation of our community and for the river we were founded on 125 years ago.
